Setting your resolving name server is very easy to do. However you will need administrator access to your system in order to make these changes. If you do not have administrator access to your machine then you will want to contact your system administrator.

This guide should be used as a basic guideline on how to get your system to use a resolving name server. If you have any detailed questions you will want to contact your system administrator or contact our sales team for a quote for support.

Windows
In Windowsyou will want to just edit your network properties and insert the resolving name servers that you were assigned or want to use.

 

Linux / UNIX
Edit your /etc/resolv.conf to include the resolving name servers. Each line that lists a resolving name servers should start with "nameserver".

An example of a resolv.conf that lists the resolving name servers 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3 would be (only two lines in the file):

nameserver 192.168.0.2
nameserver 192.168.0.3
